The Kakching Khunou Educational Forum proudly congratulates Mr. Mayanglambam Somorjit Singh, son of Shri. Mayanglambam Ningthemjao Singh and Smt. Mayanglambam (o) Pravapati Devi of Kakching Khunou Hijam Mayanglambam Leikai, Kakching District, on being awarded the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Entomology by Nagaland University, Lumami on 29th July, 2025.
His doctoral research, titled “Screening of Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill] Genotypes for Resistance against Major Insect-Pests”, was carried out under the guidance of Prof. Imtinaro L., Department of Entomology, Nagaland University.
Mr. Somorjit’s academic journey began at Khomdonbi Memorial English School, Kakching Khunou (Nursery to Class VII), followed by Standard Robarth Hr. Sec. School, Imphal (Class IX & X), Herbert School, Imphal (Class XII), Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat (Graduation), Central Agricultural University, Imphal (Masters), and finally with his Ph.D. at Nagaland University.
He has successfully cleared ASRB-NET in 2019 and 2023, and has made noteworthy contributions to agricultural sciences through his research publications, book chapters, and presentations at various national and international conferences. At present, he is serving as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Entomology, Rajiv Gandhi University, Doimukh, Arunachal Pradesh.
